Jacob Smith is member of the Borrington Town Council. Well known as a maverick, Jake commonly finds himself at odds with the rest of the council, but some see him as a legitimate balancing force.

As a young councilor, Jake made a name for himself by objecting to the town's plan to burn its only two musical instruments as firewood. He has since supported many controversial issues such as: repealing the ban on quick check-out lines in the General Store, a measure to reallocate several acres of land to grow parsnips instead of carrots, and a propoal to build a maypole.

Many people in town have expressed concern about an out-of-town developer repurposing one of our unused barns as something too exciting for a goodly hardworking town like Borrington. As councilmember, I believe nothing about the new development goes against our values as a town, which is why I plan to vote to approve it.
